A 3 Jaw Power Chuck is an automatically actuated chuck used on CNC lathes and turning centers for fast, accurate, and repeatable clamping of round and hexagonal components.
Powered by hydraulic or pneumatic pressure, all three jaws move simultaneously and self-centering, ensuring high concentricity and reduced setup time.
3 jaw power chucks are ideal for mass production, automation, and high-speed CNC machining where consistency and productivity are critical.
Applications
3 Jaw Power Chucks are widely used in:
- CNC Turning Centers & CNC Lathes
- Automotive shaft & flange machining
- Engineering & general machining industries
- High-volume production components
- OD & face turning operations
- Automated loading / unloading systems
- Roughing and finishing applications
Key Features
- ✔ Self-centering simultaneous jaw movement
- ✔ Hydraulic or pneumatic actuation
- ✔ High clamping force for stable machining
- ✔ Excellent repeatability & accuracy
- ✔ Fast jaw change capability
- ✔ Hardened & precision-ground jaws
- ✔ Suitable for high-speed CNC operation
- ✔ Long service life with low maintenance
Working Principle
The chuck operates using hydraulic or pneumatic pressure supplied through a rotary cylinder.
This pressure moves an internal piston, which drives a scroll or wedge mechanism, causing all three jaws to move inward or outward together—providing uniform and secure clamping.
